BREAKTHROUGH!!

SUGAR IS THE CAUSE OF ACNE

Through this web site, we began an effort in 1998 to be probably the first ever to alert people worldwide how sugar causes acne and ways they can, under their own control, stop new acne. After convincing thousands of people, it is encouraging to finally see significant recognition appearing in the media about the link between sugar and acne. There are currently over 12 million internet pages responding to a search on "acne and sugar", many supporting the truth about sugar's effect on acne.

There are still prominent medical and health information sites clinging to the old rhetoric that research does not support a link between diet and acne. The only reason this once was true was not because the link did not exist, but simply because research had not been done properly to prove the link. The 12-year survey conducted through this site revealed amazing clues why previous research most likely failed to link acne to diet and what critical steps are essential as part of any new research into sugar as the cause of acne.

"Many people with quite severe cases for which no previous success was ever attained, experienced a significant reduction in their acne for the first time in their life after stopping sugar consumption."

The information I present here is from my own experiences of what I learned about acne and how I overcame this disease and brought it under control, and what I learned from the many people that have contacted me over the internet. This site is not about promoting any medical advice, medications, drugs, products, services, or instant acne cures. I hope what I present will lead to a better understanding of acne and give some fresh insight to acne sufferers frustrated by the lack of new information and fearful of some of the suggested drugs.

For anyone willing to try cutting back on sugar consumption, let me warn you it is no easy task and it is not without its own frustrations. But oh how effectively it works!

a great opportunity exits for new research

Valid formal research with clinical trials is still clearly missing. Since the medical community largely denies the sugar-acne link, a valuable diet alteration strategy that could profoundly benefit acne sufferers remains overlooked. Here is an opportunity for producing breakthrough findings. If the advice presented in our survey results concerning strict diet control by the research team is taken seriously, I am totally convinced very positive results can be obtained. I strongly encourage a research dietitian to take up the challenge.
